FAQs

How to install ReflexMentor?

ReflexMentor is a free and green software.

Simply download the zip file, uncompress it and copy the folder to your extend card.

What kinds of file types does ReflexMentor support?

Audio

ReflexMentro can read any audio file that windows media could play, say mp3, wav, wma, etc.

For *.SWA files from third-party content, simply change the file extention to mp3 and it will work.

To batch rename the files or convert image format, google xnView which is a free tool.

Image

ReflexMentro can read common image files that could be shown by windows mobile itself, say jpg, bmp, png, etc.

For *.PCT files from third-party content, they must be converted to format that is readable by ReflexMentor.

Some lightweight freewares are available for batch transfering and renaming image/audio files.

(xnView is recommended as a free tool which can do the above two tasks in a blink of eyes)

Script

Only raw txt file is supported.

A script txt file corresponds to a catalog and is a critical part of it.

The script file contains sentences seperated by @, the first of which is a description of the catalog.

How to import and use third-party content?

Step1 - rename and copy files

batch-rename all the third-party audio files(say *.SWA) to *.mp3 files on your CD.

(you need to a temporary working folder since CDROM is read-only).

batch-convert all the third-party image files(say *.PCT) to *.jpg files with any image editor.

(xnView is recommended as a free tool which can do the above two tasks in a blink of eyes)

Now we need to copy content folders to our mobile's storage card.

You will have to put the ReflexMentor folder on storage card since third-party content is usually very large.

copy all the content folders to your ReflexMentor installation folder, say ReflexMentor\Data.

Alternatively you can copy the folders to any subfolder, say ReflexMentor\Data\ReflexMentor1.

Step2 - create package

Launch ReflexMentor, click Catalog button to go to CatalogSelect dialog.

Click and hold on packages node of the treeview, click AddPackage.

Input a package name, say "ReflexMentor1". Click OK menu.

Step3 - import catalogs

Click and hold on ReflexMentor1 node of the treeview, click AddCatalog.

Tick Batch Add Catalogs checkbox and Click OK menu.

If you are kind of tech geek like me, the batch help might interest you.
